The Towers of The Upstairs Train

Towers enhance the three-dimensionality of a layout and provide illumination.  Plus: they look cool. Click on a tower to see where it is on the layout.

#769 Aircraft Beacon. This is the first tower I got as a kid.

The #773 bubbling Oil Derrick was my second tower, and my mother's favorite. This is the last corner of the layout to be landscaped.

The next two towers were in that collection I bought in the 1970s.
