Southern Pacific Freight
This is another of the trains that I put together with cars I collected.  Gilbert never sold this train as a set.
I am in the process of collecting all the Hopper Cars that Gilbert made; I plan to put as many in this train as will fit in a block of track controlled by a
semaphore.
I assembled this Southern Pacific GP-7 engine from pieces I bought on ebay.  First I got the LTI #48000 GP-7 shell, and then a good running chassis and sideframes.  So now the 48000 is usable on the layout.
#632 LNE Hopper Car that I got as a kid.
#632 LNE Hopper Car - black with no red circles
640 Hopper Car with black lettering. Gilbert made five different variations of the 640 between 1949 and 1953.  The one with white lettering is in the Farm Train made in 1950.
805 B&O Hopper Car
924 CRP Hopper Cars
940 Wabash Hopper Cars
And the later, harder to find 24213 Hopper Car
CB&Q Hopper Cars: the original 921 and the later, harder to find 24206
24216 Union Pacific Hopper.
This is a triple-bay hopper, much longer than the earlier two-bay hoppers above.
Watch this space - more are coming!
